"Future Love Paradise" was created in late 1994. It was borne out of the simple fact that there were many Seal fans to be found in the UseNet groups of other, similar artist, but there was nowhere to call 'our own'. In an attempt to address this, I created the "alt.music.seal" newsgroup to give us a place to meet and chat. Shortly afterward, the a Seal web site was concieved. I'd done some tinkering with HTML, and figured that a web site would bolster the UseNet group and online support Seal. Web hosting wasn't so proliferate in 1994, so it came as a great help when Ari Edelson offered the use of his personal Yale University web space for hosting, and "Future Love Paradise" was born.

Of course, back in '94 the web wasn't what it is today. Features such as frames, tables, Java & JavaScript were either under development or waiting in the wings. Grey backgrounds, Times typeface and the whole shebang aligned to the left of the page was the best you could eek out of the latest web browsers.

Because of these low tech limitations, I could only concentrate on the quality and quantity of Future Love Paradise's content. My first focus was to create the most complete Seal discography I could manage. Even today Lazlo Nibble's ZTT discography forms the basis of the "Future Love Paradise" discography, as this contained the majority of Seal's material up to that point. The next area to concentrate on was the lyrics. Eric Zanto stepped up to the mark with his transcriptions of the first two albums. His interpretations have been the subject of many a discussion on "alt.music.seal" newsgroup, which has columinated in the honed lyrics that "Future Love Paradise" plays host to today.
Thanks to Ari, Lazlo, Eric and many other Seal fans on the 'net, the "Future Love Paradise" web site has become the first port of call for other Seal fans, new and old. Even through the times when it seemed we'd never see any new material, "Future Love Paradise" has strived to bring you news. While the marketing machine couldn't care less about the visibility of Seal and his music, "Future Love Paradise" has been here, a bright neon sign on the web.

Of course, this wouldn't be the case if it weren't for those other fans who contributed to the site. Many people mail me to thank and congratulate me on a great site. My response is always the same, "if it weren't for the likes of you, the fans, admirers, and devotees, 'Future Love Paradise' wouldn't be what it is today".

With that said, it's with great deal of gratitude that I give thanks to all the fans who've helped me build "Future Love Paradise" to the level you see it as today.

Love & Life,

G.

1994 saw the launch of FLP, limited to the "tombstone" design due to HTML contraints

Thanks to advances in HTML, namely tables, the first major redesign came in 1996

1997, and FLP becomes a little more topical with the "Fly Like An Eagle" design
